Fred Anderson, Director

Fred Anderson is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of NextEquity Partners, a new venture growth equity fund he co-founded in 2015. Anderson previously served as a Managing Director of Elevation Partners, a private equity investment fund he co-founded, from 2004 to December 2021, when the fund was fully realized and liquidated. From 1996 to 2004, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apple Computer. Anderson joined Apple Inc from ADP, where he was Chief Financial Officer and served on the company’s Executive Committee from 1992 to 1996. Prior to joining ADP, he held several executive positions at MAI Systems Corporation from 1978 to 1991 including President and Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.



Before starting his career in private industry, Anderson served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and was a CPA and a consulting manager with Coopers & Lybrand from 1972 to 1977. He holds a B.A. from Whittier College and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Anderson previously served on the boards of directors of Apple, Crystal Decisions, Move, Palm, Sonos, 3Com and the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council. He currently serves on the board of eBay, the board of trustees of Whittier College and the Stanford Athletics Board. The Board has determined that Anderson qualifies as an "audit committee financial expert," as defined in applicable SEC rules.
