Fred Anderson, Director

Fred Anderson is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of NextEquity Partners, a new venture growth equity fund he co-founded in 2015. Anderson previously served as a Managing Director of Elevation Partners, a private equity investment fund he co-founded, from 2004 to December 2021, when the fund was fully realized and liquidated. From 1996 to 2004, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apple Computer. Anderson joined Apple Inc from ADP, where he was Chief Financial Officer and served on the company’s Executive Committee from 1992 to 1996. Prior to joining ADP, he held several executive positions at MAI Systems Corporation from 1978 to 1991 including President and Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Before starting his career in private industry, Anderson served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and was a CPA and a consulting manager with Coopers & Lybrand from 1972 to 1977. He holds a B.A. from Whittier College and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Anderson previously served on the boards of directors of Apple, Crystal Decisions, Move, Palm, Sonos, 3Com and the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council. He currently serves on the board of eBay, the board of trustees of Whittier College and the Stanford Athletics Board. The Board has determined that Anderson qualifies as an "audit committee financial expert," as defined in applicable SEC rules.

Christine Barone, Director

Christine Barone is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dutch Bros Coffee and has more than a decade of food service and beverage leadership experience. Prior to joining Dutch Bros in February 2023, she served as Chief Executive Officer of True Food Kitchen, a high growth restaurant and lifestyle brand, beginning in August 2016. From February 2011 to August 2016, Barone held various leadership roles at Starbucks, including as Senior Vice President of Food, Licensed Stores and Evenings. Prior to joining Starbucks, she spent ten years as a Principal with Bain & Company, where she advised leaders of retail, consumer and technology businesses on strategy, marketing, organization and operations. Barone began her career as an investment banker at Raymond James. She holds a B.A. in applied mathematics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. The Board has determined that Barone qualifies as an "audit committee financial expert," as defined in applicable SEC rules.

Robert Gibbs, Director

Robert Gibbs is a Partner at Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI), a public affairs and communications agency, where he focuses on corporate reputation, executive communications, and crisis response. Prior to joining BPI in March 2020, Gibbs spent four and a half years at McDonald’s as Executive Vice President for Corporate Relations and Global Chief Communications Officer, where he oversaw all corporate communications, public relations, internal and executive communications, global government relations, and public affairs work. Before joining McDonald’s, he was a Partner at the Incite Agency, a strategic communications firm he co-founded that is now a part of BPI. Prior to Incite Agency, Gibbs was a Senior Campaign Advisor to President Barack Obama for nearly a decade. He served as Communications Director for President Obama’s 2004 Senate campaign as well as his 2008 presidential campaign, and later served as the first White House Press Secretary for the Obama Administration from January 2009 to February 2011, and as a Senior Advisor to President Obama’s re-election campaign. Gibbs was Press Secretary of then-Senator John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign and has previously specialized in Senate campaigns, having served as Communications Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and for four individual Senate campaigns. He holds a B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University.

Diane Irvine, Chairperson of Yelp Board of Directors

Diane Irvine has served on our board of directors since November 2011 and as chairperson since 2015. She served in executive leadership roles, most recently as Chief Executive Officer at Blue Nile, Inc., an online retailer of diamonds and fine jewelry, from 1999 to 2011. Prior to Blue Nile, Irvine served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc., a timberland management and wood products company. From 1981 to 1994, she served in various capacities, most recently as a Partner, with Coopers and Lybrand LLP, an international accounting firm. Irvine currently serves on the boards of Funko, Inc., a leading pop culture consumer products company, and D.A. Davidson Companies, a financial services firm. She previously served on the boards of Farfetch Limited, Casper Sleep Inc., XO Group Inc. (now known as The Knot Worldwide) and Rightside Group Ltd. Irvine holds a B.S. in Accounting from Illinois State University, an M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Golden Gate University. The Board has determined that Irvine qualifies as an "audit committee financial expert," as defined in applicable SEC rules.

Sharon Rothstein, Director

Sharon Rothstein has served as Operating Partner of Stripes Group, a leading growth equity firm that has invested in high-growth consumer and SaaS companies for over a decade, since October 2018. Prior to joining Stripes Group, Rothstein held leadership roles at Starbucks from 2013 to 2018, where she served as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer and subsequently, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Product Officer, and was responsible for the Starbucks brand and go-to-market plan as well as the company’s portfolio of product platforms. Prior to joining Starbucks, she held senior marketing and brand management positions at Sephora, Godiva Chocolatier, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Nabisco Biscuit Company and Procter & Gamble. Rothstein currently serves on the boards of Block, InterContinental Hotels Group, Levain Cookies and Califia Farms and previously served on the boards of Afterpay Limited (until its acquisition by Block in 2022), True Food Kitchen and LOLA. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dan Jedda, Director

Dan Jedda is the chief financial officer at Roku, Inc., a leading global TV streaming platform. Before joining Roku in May 2023, Jedda served as the chief financial officer at Stitch Fix, Inc.. Prior to Stitch Fix, Jedda spent 15 years at Amazon.com, Inc., where he held the role of vice president and chief financial officer for digital video (including Amazon Studios), digital music, and the advertising and corporate development organizations. While at Amazon, Jedda also oversaw the digital video and advertising economist and analytics team. He holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from the University of St. Thomas and a M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.

Jeremy Stoppelman, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer

Jeremy founded Yelp in 2004 with Russel Simmons, a former colleague at PayPal. Jeremy continues to drive the vision and product experience for the company, personally overseeing product development among other aspects of the business. Prior to Yelp, Jeremy completed his first year of Harvard Business School, but dropped out after founding the company. Before attending business school Jeremy was VP of engineering at PayPal. He holds a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Illinois.

Tony Wells, Director

Tony Wells most recently served as Chief Media Officer at Verizon Communications Inc. from September 2021 to March 2023. From July 2020 to September 2021, Wells served as Chief Brand Officer at USAA, a leading provider of insurance, banking and retirement solutions to members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families. He also served in several other senior marketing roles at USAA, including leading USAA’s marketing research, analytics and member intelligence function, and directing the marketing teams for USAA Bank and USAA Financial Advice Solutions Group. Previously, Wells held Chief Marketing Officer roles at Schneider Electric, ADT Security and 24 Hour Fitness. His career has also spanned the automotive, home, financial services and retail industries at companies including Visa USA, Interpublic Group of Companies, SFX Sports Group, The Mills Corporation and Nissan North America. Wells currently serves on the boards of Nexstar Media Group and TripleLift and previously served on the boards of the Association of National Advertisers and Pattern89. He was formerly an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Wells is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and earned a management certificate from Johns Hopkins University.
